Sonnya’s Texas Sheet Cake from Andie

IN DRY MIXER BOWL:

2 c. flour
2 c. regular granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

ON STOVE:

½ c. oil
1 stick butter
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cocoa

–Bring to a boil, then add to mixer bowl. Mix well.

ADD:

two lightly beaten eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
½ c buttermilk *or* ½ c. sour milk (½ c. milk with 1 tsp. lemon juice or white vinegar added, must stand five minutes)

BAKE in greased 9×13 pan for 30-35 minutes at 350.

WHEN CAKE IS NEARLY DONE, start the frosting!

ON STOVE:

½ c. butter, melted
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts, if desired

Mix together and stir till creamy and no lumps of sugar remain.
Frost the cake while still hot.

Excellent warm, *incredible* cold!
